International Yoga day was celebrated on June 21st, 2019, Friday in our school campus. We started the program around 7.30am with a prayer song sung by Class IX students and is continued with a welcome song for World music day sung by Class VIII students. Then the students started to perform yoga which is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines. It is a great form of exercise which can be done anywhere and requires no special equipment. It also enhances flexibility, endurance as well as muscle tone. Yoga asanas performed by the children have a dual function as some of the poses use our body weight to tone our muscles, while others strengthen the muscles.
Students of VI to X performed asanas in different formations as 4 flower patterns, a smiley pattern and 2 butterfly patterns. Then whole school performed Suryanamaskaram and continued with happy keertan with claps which doubles the happiness among the students and staff members.
Finally, we did a shanthi slogan chanted by all the students and concluded with National anthem.
